Headmaster - Kevin O'Dea
My name is Kevin O'dea and I am privileged to serve LCA as the school headmaster. I was born in Flint, Michigan. Because my father was in the military, our family moved all over the country until we landed here in Smyrna, TN my first-grade year. Spending the past two and a half decades in Smyrna, I have grown to love this community and call it my home. I am a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University earning a Masters of Education in Administration and Supervision. I am also ordained through and serve in a pastoral capacity at Springhouse Worship and Arts Center. I began my journey at LCA alongside Keith and Sherry Lancaster in 2004 as a Theater and Language Arts teacher. I have seen the vision of their ministry flourish, and I am thrilled to see it continue. It has been a humbling and joyful experience to see students of all ages surrender their lives to Jesus and strive to make Him famous. I am husband to my lovely wife, Shari, and father to Hadassah, Lucia, and Ruby. My family and I are excited to partner with families in education and work to provide a nurturing, safe environment where kids of all ages can grow in the Lord.
Assistant Headmaster - Rachel Malpass
My name is Rachel Malpass, and I am privileged to serve as the Director of Administration at Lancaster Christian Academy. I was born and raised in a small farming community not too far from Springfield, Missouri. I
thank the Lord daily for blessing me with wonderful Christian parents. My mom has been an insurance agent for 30 years, and my dad has worked for Pepsi-Cola for 32 years. Outside of their "day jobs", they also farm and raise beef cattle. Not only are my parent's hard workers, they are devoted Christians. Because of their dedication to church, at the age of 10, I realized my need for a Savior. The best decision I ever made was accepting Jesus Christ and His will for my life.
After graduating high school, I chose to pursue a Christian education. Once I completed college in 2008, I began my journey at LCA! I had the wonderful opportunity to work for Keith and Sherry Lancaster for several years before they retired. I am eternally grateful for their sacrifices and dedication to make LCA what it is today! From first grade teacher to kindergarten, to fifth grade, and now to administrator- I have loved every step! It is a joy to work alongside Mr. And Mrs. O'Dea as they lead this ministry and pursue Christ with all they have. My wonderful church home is with New Vision in Murfreesboro, andI look forward to being there every Sunday! I truly love Tennessee - and am thankful to be a part of such a wonderful school. I'm looking forward to a gret school year at LCA and partnering with my LCA family.
Director of Academics
Hello! My name is Vonda Coble. I am honored and blessed to have the opportunity to work and serve as the Director of Academics at Lancaster Christian Academy. I am a born and raised PK (preachers kid), which has given me a very strong foundation in Christ, but an unstable educational background. You see, my father was called to preach in many different cities and states. This caused our family of an amazing mother, rock-star older sister, and life of the party younger brother to move very often. As for me, the quiet, peace making middle child, I attended more than 7 different schools from K-12 grade. My first year of school I was in three different kindergarten classes in three different states! No, not much of a foundation at all. However, God has used that experience to guide me as an educator (Romans 8:28 “All things work together...). He has always given me a love for children and called me to be a Minister of Education/teacher in 1997 (Isaiah 54) while I was in college. I started teaching March 22, 1999.
I have taught for seventeen years. For the last 4 years, God has stirred a new passion within me to train/coach teachers. He has given me the opportunity to train teachers in Honduras, Kenya, for Rutherford County School District, and at local schools
I have been blessed to share my passion for teaching and loving the “whole child and it is simply amazing!
I am excited to see God's hand working in the lives of my family (my husband Matt Coble and daughter Jeavonna Coble, who is a senior at UT, “Go Big Orange!) and the lives of the families of Lancaster Christian Academy this year. My prayer is that God continues to use me for His Kingdom building, and that I might to be a blessing to the LCA staff, students and parents.
Director of Primary Education
My name is Kim Robinette, and I am so excited to be a part of the ministry of Lancaster Christian Academy. I am originally from Pensacola, Floriday, where I attended a Christian school that is very similar to LCA. I felt the calling to become an educator at a young age. While in high school, I began to feel the desire to teach in a Christian school setting. After high school I went to college at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida, where I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.
After graduation I continued to live in Lakeland, and I worked as the Managing Director at Huntington Learning Center. My husband had a job transfer, and we moved to Nashville in 2009. I worked in Rutherford County, in a 4th grade classroom, before moving to Smyrna in 2011 to begin teaching at Lancaster. In 2012 my husband and I, alongside my in-laws, planted Cross Country Cowboy Church. My husband now serves as the associate pastor, and we have enjoyed seeing God grow that ministry from the ground up.
I have been married to my wonderful husband, Josh, since 2008, and we have two amazing children-a son named Jacob and a daughter named Julia. I have been so blessed to be surrounded by Godly influences that have always pointed me toward Christ. Coming from a strong foundation myself, I am grateful that God has chosen me to pour into the lives of these children and watch Him use move in mighty ways. Lancaster is an amazing school, and I am so proud to be a part of it. I have enjoyed seeing God do some incredible things here, and I look forward to all He still has in store.
Dean of Admissions & Athletic Director
My name is Joey O'Dea and I have the privilege of serving Lancaster Christian Academy as the Director of Admissions and Athletics. Growing up the majority of my life in Smyrna, TN, I am honored to have an opportunity to serve our great community through LCA and athletics. I currently live in Smyrna, am a husband to my beautiful wife, Jamie, and a proud father to my wonderful daughter, Brooklyn.
Another passion of mine is the game of basketball. It's a blessing to be the head coach for our LCA high school boys basketball team. The Lord provides different outlets for everyone to make his Word known, and I am humbled to use basketball to fulfill His mission. I'm very excited about the upcoming school year and welcome you to the LCA family.
Director of Student Affairs
My name is Robert Brooks and I have had the honor of serving LCA families and students since 2014. Currently, I am blessed to serve this ministry as the Director of Student Affairs for both Middle and High School. It is my heart to partner with LCA families to mold and guide students as they grow in the Lord.
Toshua Brooks, my beautiful wife, and I have been married for 12 years and have three amazing daughters: Kelsey, Emma, and Journey. We are very proud to say our eldest daughter is currently studying education at Lee University. My wife and I both serve our church. Toshua serves as the Children's Program Director and I am the Worship Leader.
My journey at LCA began as the Cafe' Manager. While serving in the cafe, the Lord revealed there was a lot more to this ministry than just food. Through the cafe, the Lord provided a realization that supplying students a safe place where they feel comfortable to pray, worship, and learn the truths about God is what it is about.
When you are in a relationship with the Lord you know when you are called to service. Miraculously obstacles are removed and opportunities are presented. When Christ is glorified and lifted high he will open doors and guide you to success and this has been my story at LCA. I asked the Lord to expand my reach of influence and he answered in a big way as I was soon serving as Campus Pastor. What a privilege to see students grow in the Lord and into outstanding young men and women pursuing the Heart of Jesus.
Lancaster is an amazing school and I am so grateful the Lord has chosen me to be a part of the LCA family and ministry. The life verse on which I stand is Zechariah 9:12: Return to your fortress, you prisoners of hope; even now I announce that I will restore twice as much to you.
My name is Jessica Trujillo and I am privileged to serve LCA as School Counselor. I was born in Lancaster, CA, and grew up near San Diego, CA. I attended an Adventist school from K-12, earning the coveted "13-year award", before moving on to receive a B.A. in Communication from San Diego State University. After a few years working in sales and customer service for the San Diego Padres, I continued my education and earned a M.S. in Counseling at Loma Linda University. While in pursuit of my degree and credential, I had the honor of joining the Colton Joint Unified School District counseling staff as an intern and substitute counselor. I then served in a number of roles for Loma Linda University Health before relocating to Denver, CO, to work as an academic coach for the education non-profit College Track.
I am honored to work with LCA students of all ages since January 2017 and incredibly grateful for the warm welcome from LCA students and staff. I am excited and grateful to serve the LCA community.
Front Office Administrator & Asst. Director or Admissions
My name is Christi Richardson and I am blessed to serve Lancaster Christian Academy as the Front Office Administrator and Assistant Director of Admissions. I was born and raised in Tulsa Oklahoma and I accepted Christ at a very young age. I met my husband of 20 years, Matt, while majoring in Theatre at Northeastern State University. Matt and I have two amazing children, Mallori and Braden.
After spending most of my adult life as a Manager in Banking and Finance, I found God leading me into Early Childhood Education. With the encouragement of my husband, I went back to school and obtained a CDA in Early Childhood Education. I am currently in the process of continuing my education in the field of Special Education.
We are recent transplants to Smyrna, TN. We were fortunate to have the opportunity to live on the beautiful island of Kauai Hawaii, where I was the Director of Preschool at Kauai Christian Academy. Our specific reason for moving to Smyrna was LCA.
After our daughter graduated high school, we decided as a family to move back to the "mainland" and we needed to find another Bible based school for our son. God led us to Lancaster. He is always so faithful! I am so excited to see what the Lord has in store for me and the Pre-k department at Lancaster Christian Academy.
Administrator & Elementary Campus Pastor
My name is Shari O'dea. I was born and raised in Tacoma, WA as the youngest of four kids. At the age of 12 years old my church allowed me to serve in the 3rs. old class. From there, I have helped in 2 yr. old classrooms, children's choir, elementary away camp, Middle school, high school, day camps, and summer camp programs. That was all before I left to attend Evangel University in Springfield, MO. From babies to young adults, I have had to opportunity to love on and strengthen others in the Lord through many ministries. I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics with a Concentration in Theatre Arts and a Minor in Social Sciences. Many programs and activities spark my interest. Yet, by far, praising Jesus with a group of children warms my heart the most. That is one reason, among many, LCA is so important to me. I married an incredibly inspiring man, Kevin O'dea, in 2010, and we have three daughters of our own. At home, we strive to glorify God in everything we do and this philosophy is instilled in our involvement at LCA. We love the students, teachers, and staff and truly feel the excitement to come to work every day.
